Medication Technician

About the Role:
At Sonnet Hill Senior Living, we are seeking a skilled Medication Technician to join our team. As a Medication Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining the health and well-being of our residents by ensuring the safe and secure delivery of medications and health-related items.
Responsibilities:
• Adhere to and convey the philosophy of Assisted Living, with awareness and practices in accordance with state regulations.
• Receive report from previous shift and Med Aide, read Communication Log and Shower Schedule for information and changes at the beginning of each day, and document in the Communication Log and Progress notes as appropriate throughout the day.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, environmental orientation, vital signs, first aid wound care, and communication with outside healthcare professionals.
• Demonstrate knowledge of infection control and universal precautions, document care given adhering to facility policies and procedures, and maintain a clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Report deficiencies observed in resident apartments clothing/linen and facility to administrator, complete Incident Report form as needed for any unusual occurrence, and observe and communicate any changes in resident physical or mental status as directed.
Requirements:
• Must have certification in the state of California.
• Perform resident care with an awareness of dignity and individuality, with understanding and concern.
• Maintain acceptable attendance record, notify supervisor if late or unable to work in accordance with personnel policies, and follow work schedule.
• Requires minimal supervision, is a self-starter, organizes and utilizes time appropriately, sets priorities, and accomplishes assigned tasks.
• Displays mature behavior and attitude in speech and action, demonstrates consistently pleasant demeanor, tone of voice, supports the philosophy and approach to care used by the facility, and keeps resident information confidential.
• Performs unpleasant tasks with grace, works cooperatively with supervisors, and displays willingness to assist co-workers.
• Abides by established policies and procedures of facility, looks for ways to improve facility functioning, keeps work areas neat and clean, and helps maintain appearance of facility.
• Can communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing, has ability to spend long periods of feet and to ambulate quickly, is free of non-treated communicable diseases, and is accurate, dependable, neat, and thorough in assigned tasks.
• Ability and willingness to learn quickly, ability to utilize and apply basic management skills, and salary range of $20.00 to $22.00 per hour.
