Job Title: Senior Electronics Technician

At XP Power, we are committed to delivering high-quality products and services to our customers. We are seeking a skilled Senior Electronics Technician to join our team in San Jose, CA.

Job Summary:

This is a challenging and rewarding role that involves testing and troubleshooting electronic equipment, including power supplies and high-voltage systems. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electronics engineering and experience with test equipment, including oscilloscopes and electronic loads.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support validation activities of test equipment, including HALT and other reliability tests.
  • Make harnesses and assemble custom electronic assemblies from electrical schematics and BOMs.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams (Mechanical engineering, Manufacturing and Quality engineering) to facilitate testing processes.
  • Work with the sourcing team on procurement and tracking of material needed for the test setup.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and modify power supply prototypes and troubleshoot electrical circuits down to the component level.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in the electronics manufacturing industry with hands-on experience with testing and troubleshooting PCBAs and electric equipment.
  • Power supply and/or high voltage experience a plus.
  • Must be able to setup tests, understand computer interface to various equipment including devices under test, instrument devices with thermocouples, sensors, electronic loads.
  • Hands-on experience with constructing and building electronics testing fixtures/equipment.
  • Familiarity in the operation of electronic test equipment such as oscilloscope, voltage and current sensors, electronic loads etc.
  • Experience with test data collection and analysis, strong sense of quality.
  • Able to read and understand electronic schematics.
  • Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills.
