About the Role:
Ophthalmic Technicians play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care at Midwest Vision Partners. As an Eye Care Specialist, you will contribute to the success of our team by performing diagnostic tests and procedures, escorting patients to exam rooms, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interact with patients to gather information and update electronic medical records;
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding their visit, delays, or changes;
  • Document patient chief complaints, present illnesses, and past medical histories accurately;
  • Record all information in EMR systems according to established standards;
  • Conduct eye muscle function tests, pupil size measurements, and reactivity assessments;
  • Apply drops for anesthetization, dilation, or medication as needed;
  • Assist with minor surgery procedures, intraocular injections, and laser treatments in exam rooms or treatment areas;
  • Educate patients on medication administration and pre/post-operative instructions;
  • Readily scribe for physicians as required;
  • Secure patient information and maintain confidentiality while safeguarding medical records;
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to de-escalate dissatisfied patients efficiently;
  • Demonstrate knowledge of eye anatomy, disease symptoms, and ocular medications;
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies and medications to answer patient questions effectively;

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent;
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle;
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50lbs;
