Recreational Therapy Specialist


About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Recreational Therapy Specialist to join our team at Trinity Health. The successful candidate will work with patients on an inpatient rehab unit, providing evaluation and treatment of leisure needs to support the healing process.



Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain good rapport and cooperative relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Approach conflict in a constructive manner and help identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in their resolution.
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient information and discuss sensitive topics only among appropriate personnel in private settings.
  • Maintain knowledge to perform duties safely and report preventable hazards and unsafe practices immediately.
  • Demonstrate self-directed learning and behave in accordance with Trinity Health's Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Provide quality patient care by considering age-specific, developmental, and cultural needs through competent clinical practice.
  • Identify and assist in resolving problems related to safety, sanitation, and maintenance of the environment.
  • Promote a positive work environment by demonstrating teamwork and effective communication.


Required Education and Experience

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy from an accredited university. Previous experience working with inpatient rehab populations is preferred.



Estimated Salary

$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
