Terrell, United States Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services Full time
Job Overview:

Flexible shifts available. Unit preferences will be discussed during the interview process.

Are you looking to excel in a setting that fosters both personal and professional growth while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others? Do you value working alongside dedicated, trustworthy colleagues who prioritize teamwork and inclusivity? The Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services is committed to cultivating a diverse community where employees feel appreciated, supported, and empowered while delivering specialized care to Texans in need.

If you are passionate about providing compassionate, innovative, and personalized care, we invite you to consider the position outlined below.

Under the direct oversight of the Chief Nurse Executive or Nurse Administrator, you will observe, assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care outcomes while meticulously documenting all aspects of care provided.

You will possess specialized knowledge regarding the patient demographics served. You will coordinate scheduling within designated areas and take primary responsibility for managing service areas during your assigned shifts, maintaining a supportive yet authoritative supervisory approach. You may also supervise, mentor, and evaluate other nursing personnel. Collaboration with Nurse Coordinators, fellow charge nurses, and Mental Health Supervisors/Specialists is essential to ensure continuous care around the clock. In the absence of the Nurse Coordinator or Nurse Manager, you may assume their responsibilities. Flexibility in your work schedule is required, allowing for initiative and independent judgment. You will provide direct nursing care to individual patients as necessary.

Job duties, work location, and shift patterns are subject to change based on the hospital's operational needs.

Exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials may occur.

Additional responsibilities may include actively participating in or supporting the agency's disaster response and/or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation efforts, which may necessitate alternate shift assignments and/or locations.

This position may qualify for additional compensation for work performed during evenings, nights, and/or weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

Regular attendance is expected, and you may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, a rotating schedule, extended shifts, and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policies while performing other assigned duties.
