Position Overview
This role entails the development and upkeep of business system control tables and financial mapping tables, which are essential for generating journal entries that facilitate the integration of underwriting outcomes into the financial system for both GAAP and Statutory reporting.

The position involves reconciling financial reports during client transitions to new and existing business systems while documenting the financial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) on system modifications and collaborate with IT on enhancements or transitions of client programs to business systems.
- Engage in peer reviews and quality control efforts in support of fellow Business Analysts and/or Senior Business Analysts within the Finance Business Systems team.
- Compile and maintain comprehensive documentation related to controls and operational tasks.
- Address inquiries regarding financial interfaces from financial analysts in accounting and finance departments.
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to implement new client programs and adjust tables for existing clients.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and provide constructive feedback on proposed procedural changes to enhance efficiency.
- Support financial interface results and audit requests as needed, with a focus on third-party administered (TPA) clients and programs. Typically operates independently under general supervision.

Specific Duties Include:
- Participating in the development and execution of new client program migrations to the AIM business system, as well as historical migrations from legacy systems.
- Verifying system data and calculations, and reconciling financial interface journals to anticipated outcomes.
- Compiling UAT exhibits to assess client data conversions and new client implementations for management review and approval.

Responsibilities Breakdown:
- (35%) Create, maintain, test, and secure business system control tables and financial system interface mapping tables for journal entries related to client program business results.
- (25%) Participate in peer reviews of work conducted by Finance Business Systems team members, investigating and rectifying errors in control or interface tables.
- (10%) Analyze program results to support the finance team concerning business system and interface journal entries, ensuring compliance with GAAP and statutory requirements.
- (10%) Compile and maintain documentation of processes and procedures, recommending improvements to management.
- (10%) Prepare exhibits for IT to extract data for audit requests, reconciling expected versus actual results.
- (5%) Communicate project statuses to management and TPA team members.
- (5%) Perform additional duties and engage in special projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications
Education, Certifications, and Experience:
- Entry-level to intermediate understanding of accounting and finance principles, typically evidenced by a B.S. in Accounting or Finance with a minor in Information Technology.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Familiarity with database theory and accounting/finance principles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Effective time management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and capability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Goal-oriented with a focus on results.

Additional Skills/Experience:
- A degree in Information Technology is advantageous.
- Familiarity with insurance terminology and insurance accounting experience is a plus.
- Experience working with databases and knowledge of SharePoint, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Access is beneficial.
- Experience with business systems or Enterprise Resource Management systems is also a plus.
