Job Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee all aspects of facilities maintenance, including preventive maintenance programs, repairs, and maintenance of material handling equipment. This role will also be responsible for overseeing maintenance expenses, reviewing and recommending changes to existing equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance of all operating equipment and facility systems, ensuring timely response to critical equipment downtime issues.
  • Train and develop maintenance personnel, ensuring their skills meet minimum requirements.
  • Utilize the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to its full capability.
  • Interact with outside vendors to coordinate construction projects, ensuring quality work and compliance with safety standards.
  • Oversee the required back stock of maintenance spare parts and supplies, minimizing inventory levels through strong supplier partnerships.
  • Ensure contractual compliance for landscape, mat rental, pest control, snow removal, waste management, and fire system maintenance accounts.
  • Maintain an active partnership with the safety committee to ensure strong alliance regarding all safety issues.

Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of maintenance experience in a large distribution center or manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a large distribution center or manufacturing environment.
  • Technical proficiency in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
  • Ability to review and critique schematic diagrams.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of CMMS.
  • Knowledge of 5-S practices preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations.
  • Awareness of state/local regulations and code requirements.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (oral/written).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
