Heavy Equipment Operator

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for safely transporting materials from the quarry to the primary crusher or surge pile. The operator must be aware of maintaining efficient loading/hauling practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a haul truck or other equipment such as front end loader, dozer, and excavator as needed.
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance on equipment.
- Notify supervisor of safety, mechanical, or electrical issues with assigned equipment.
- Deal with customers, co-workers, and management in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Maintain constant awareness of safety, efficiency, and display a flexibility and out of the box thinking with the capability to solve problems.
- Willing to work outside in all types of weather.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule during peak times.
- Prior experience working in a mining environment preferred.
- Ability to operate various pieces of heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
Work Environment:
- Perform all work in accordance with YBP Safety policies.
- The work is performed outdoors and/or indoors, enduring heat, cold, rain, dust, wind, and other elements.
- Capable of operating various types of heavy equipment and/or machinery.
Physical Capabilities:
- Physical demands include but are not limited to walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
