This role involves managing medical billing processes within a Physician Practice. A critical aspect of this position is the efficient and timely follow-up on overdue and denied claims from third-party payers. The individual in this role is tasked with ensuring revenue collection for services rendered by Albany Medical Center's Physicians through activities such as appeals, phone communications, and account assessments.

Salary Range: $23.00

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is mandatory; an AAS degree is preferred.
  • Experience in customer service is essential.
  • Prior experience in phone-based customer service is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in office applications, particularly Excel and Word, is required.
  • Familiarity with payer websites is necessary.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team setting.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine charges and data for precision and contest discrepancies related to CPT-4 and ICD-10 codes with insurance providers.
  • Verify and amend registration and insurance details, ensuring correct claim submissions.
  • Conduct research and interpret information to efficiently resolve account discrepancies.
  • Understand and adhere to payer policy guidelines concerning billing practices.
  • Follow internal protocols for thorough account evaluations.
  • Meet established production and quality benchmarks.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided to equip the individual with the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the duties and responsibilities effectively. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday during daytime hours.
