Position Overview

The Oncology Sales Representative is tasked with achieving and surpassing sales objectives by promoting oncology therapeutic products within a designated territory in a compliant and ethical manner. This role involves representing and advocating for assigned brand(s) in the oral markets with FDA-approved indications, assisting targeted healthcare professionals, such as Medical Oncologists, Hematologists, Endocrinologists, and nursing staff, in understanding the efficacy and safety of Eisai's products in alignment with regulatory guidelines. The representative collaborates with office management to provide essential informational resources, such as product data, and cultivates meaningful relationships with key stakeholders. A thorough understanding of managed markets is crucial to facilitate product access, partnering with relevant reimbursement and market access teams. Key responsibilities include conducting territory and market analysis, strategic business planning, executing plans independently, engaging with key stakeholders, adapting swiftly to internal and external business changes, and proactively driving local solutions. Collaboration with internal cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Associate Director Regional Marketing, Oncology Field Reimbursement Managers, and other specialized roles, is essential to ensure aligned and coordinated efforts with customers in a compliant manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide education on the utilization of promoted oncology therapeutic products for specific indications; deliver clinical, efficacy, and safety messaging to target physicians in a compliant manner while offering information regarding product access and safe administration in collaboration with appropriate healthcare providers. Engage in ongoing clinical acumen and compliance training with the goal of achieving expert-level knowledge for customers. Drive sales growth as outlined in the business plan, measured according to the Incentive Compensation Plan, by facilitating sales pull-through with open-access and independent targets for specific indications; work closely with District Business Leaders to enhance sales within Integrated Delivery Networks in accordance with account plans.
  • Develop and execute a territory business plan that aligns with the overall business strategy, regularly reviewing it with management to ensure the inclusion of appropriate strategic and tactical components, as well as call prioritization to meet or exceed sales goals. Monitor operating expenses and adherence to the territory budget.
  • Identify key decision-makers within practices. Influence prescribers and decision-makers by understanding the challenges and opportunities within the territory to drive sales growth. Conduct sales presentations, informational in-services, and promotional education/informational programs targeted at appropriate personnel.
  • Utilize a company-leased vehicle to attend meetings with healthcare providers and other relevant stakeholders. Travel overnight as necessary, including within the territory and to conferences, training sessions, and sales meetings.
  • Adhere to all Eisai policies and applicable laws.
Overall Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (BS/BA) required.
  • Oncology Sales Representative: Minimum of 2 years of relevant specialty sales experience, device sales, or related therapeutic area; oncology experience preferred.
Additional Qualifications
  • Experience in hospital and large account sales, with a documented history of successful sales performance in a competitive environment preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, solid presentation abilities, and the capacity to influence others.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain robust business relationships.
  • Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of customer business, disease states, product prescribing information, approved promotional clinical trials, patient access to medication, and regulatory/compliance guidelines.
  • Comprehensive understanding of key laws and regulations affecting the pharmaceutical industry, including the PhRMA Code, Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, OIG/DOJ Guidance, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and federal and state transparency and disclosure laws.
  • Must successfully complete all company training programs and pass the company certification process, as well as all customer-mandated and vendor credentialing requirements.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time (as required by the territory), including overnight travel to conferences, training, and sales meetings.
  • Valid US driver's license and a driving record that complies with company standards are required.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and effectively is essential.

Eisai Salary Transparency Language:
The base salary range for the Oncology Sales Representative - S1 is from $127,400 to $167,300.

This position is eligible to participate in the Eisai Inc. Sales Incentive Plan.

Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, and skills.
