We are seeking a seasoned Commercial Lending Relationship Manager to join our team at New York Community Bank. As a key member of our Commercial Banking group, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with our commercial clients, generating new business opportunities, and driving revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business Origination: Develop and maintain relationships with commercial clients to generate new business opportunities, and coordinate with our team to approve and close deals.
  • Relationship Management: Work closely with our portfolio managers to engage with clients, identify new business opportunities, and expand our relationship with existing clients.
  • Strategic Planning: Partner with our division management to create a strategic plan for our commercial banking group, and develop action plans to achieve our goals.
  • Credit Quality: Work with our portfolio managers to monitor the credit quality of our commercial loan portfolio, and take corrective actions as needed to manage our risk exposure.
  • Maintaining Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on industry trends and market conditions that may impact our commercial banking group, and our clients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Finance or a related field.
  • Formal credit training preferred.
  • 10+ years of commercial lending or equivalent experience.
  • Established relationships and a proven track record of direct origination with commercial clients.
  • Expertise in negotiating, structuring, and closing complex loans.
  • Proven ability to generate significant cross-sell revenues.
  • Strong analytical and credit skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and mentor less experienced relationship managers and portfolio managers.
  • Knowledge of treasury management, interest rate protection, and syndication products and capabilities.
  • Ability to recognize issues and take corrective actions to manage our risk exposure.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance issues related to commercial lending.
