Position Overview

The Pediatric Respiratory Therapist plays a crucial role in providing respiratory care to young patients in various settings. This position requires a dedicated professional with the necessary certifications and experience to deliver high-quality care.

Certification Requirements
  • Mandatory Certifications: CRT or RRT, Texas RCP license, BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS
Job Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Deliver respiratory therapy to pediatric patients, including those in the Emergency Department, PICU, and NICU.
  • Team Collaboration: Work alongside a team of 6-12 staff members per shift, providing care during both day and night shifts.
  • Patient Ratios: Manage 30-40 therapy units per shift, ensuring each patient receives appropriate attention.
  • Equipment Utilization: Operate advanced respiratory equipment such as Servo U ventilators, Avea Ventilators, and non-invasive V60 devices.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records using Meditech EMR.
Qualifications
  • Experience: A minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in PICU or Level 3/Level 4 NICU is required.
  • Preferred Skills: Proficiency in nebulizer therapy, airway clearance techniques, BiPAP, ventilator management, HFNC, and bronchial assistance.

  • Work Schedule: Availability for at least 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week schedule.

  • Dress Code: Olive/sage scrub top with black scrub bottom.
