Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our team at HITT Contracting. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a critical role in the success of our commercial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination
    • Coordinate and distribute project information and authorizations to ensure timely completion, within budget, and to the specified quality.
    • Protect and promote the interests of both the business and client in all matters.
  • Documentation and Compliance
    • Maintain adherence to HITT's standards of safety.
    • Ensure required documentation is filed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Financial Management
    • Assist in creating and managing project budgets for all assigned projects.
  • Pre-Construction and Project Meetings
    • Develop pre-construction RFP packages.
    • Assist in conducting project meetings, setting milestones, and formulating monthly owner reports.
  • Job Processes and Logistics
    • Establish job processes, including RFIs, submittals, and pay applications.
    • Approve pay applications and negotiate subcontract change orders.
    • Update project schedules and ensure project quality control.
  • Closeout and Collaboration
    • Assist in managing the closeout process.
    • Collaborate with the project superintendent and site operations team throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma required; four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred.
    • In lieu of a degree, additional work experience is acceptable.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • 2-5 years' experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor.
    • Previous experience on commercial job sites is strongly preferred.
    • Ability to master sector/project-specific software systems, including Microsoft Office suite and ProCore.
    • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
