We are seeking a skilled Patient Transport Aide to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a Patient Transport Aide, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and timely movement of patients within the Medical Center.
Key Responsibilities- Moves patients between their beds and modes of transportation, such as wheelchairs and stretchers, in a courteous and safe manner.
- Collaborates with nursing staff to ensure the appropriate movement and transport of patients.
- Handles and delivers patient charts according to hospital and department policies.
- Delivers and picks up clean and dirty instruments, specimens, and patient belongings as directed by the supervisor.
- Maintains O2 stock by safely collecting and storing oxygen per hospital rooms.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Entry-level position with on-the-job training provided by the Team Leader and Patient Transport staff.
- Ability to support and push patients of various body conditions, with weights ranging from 100 lbs to 300+ lbs.
- Ability to work with the paging system to track patient movement and transport staff.
- Experience in patient transport, medical experience, and patient contact.
