Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, toileting, and oral hygiene, as well as assisting with meals and feeding patients as needed.
- Assist with patient transportation and transfers, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients at all times.
- Collect and process patient specimens, including blood and urine samples, and transport them to the laboratory for analysis.
- Perform EKGs and vital sign checks, and document patient information accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with patient education and discharge planning, ensuring that patients and their families are well-informed and prepared for discharge.
- Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration to develop and implement patient care plans, and contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, Patient Care Technician (PCT) program, or Fundamentals of Nursing program from an accredited school of nursing.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs, with a strong sense of accountability and a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT) in a hospital setting.
- Certification in phlebotomy and EKG, with the ability to perform these tasks accurately and efficiently.
