Job Title: Digital Media Specialist

Join the California Department of Aging as a Digital Media Specialist and contribute to the creation of engaging digital content that promotes healthy aging and supports the department's mission.

Job Summary:

The Digital Media Specialist will work closely with the Communication Manager and Creative Services Manager to design and develop digital media products, including websites, social media platforms, and print materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in graphic design, web development, and multimedia production, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop digital media products, including websites, social media platforms, and print materials
  • Collaborate with the Communication Manager and Creative Services Manager to develop content and design concepts
  • Develop and maintain the department's website and social media presence
  • Produce high-quality visual content, including graphics, videos, and animations
  • Work with the Communication Manager to develop and implement a social media strategy
  • Provide technical support for digital media projects
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, web development, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in digital media production, including graphic design, web development, and multimedia production
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Strong understanding of web development and design principles
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) and e-commerce platforms
  • Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) principles
  • Experience with video production and editing software
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and their applications
Working Conditions:

The physical work location of the position is designated at the department's headquarters location, a three-story building and standard office modular workspace located in Natomas. The duties of the position require sitting for long periods of time while using a personal computer, reviewing documents, and attending meetings whether they are digital (i.e., Zoom, WebEx, MS Teams, etc.) or in person.
