Shift: Evening Shift

Work Schedule: 8 Hours (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM)

Overview:
Under the general oversight of an Environmental Services supervisor, the Environmental Services Specialist is responsible for the thorough cleaning, upkeep, and maintenance of designated areas within the facility. This role embodies the mission, vision, and values of Rush and adheres to established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute the 10 Step Cleaning process.

• Vacuum and maintain carpeted areas.

• Perform dry and wet mopping of hard surface floors.

• Clean and polish metal fixtures.

• Conduct discharge cleaning as required and utilize the Bed Tracking System.

• Spot clean windows and maintain cleanliness of water fountains.

• Sanitize public telephones and restrooms.

• Empty waste receptacles and manage waste disposal.

• Organize and maintain supplies in the designated storage area.

• Clean upholstered furniture and respond to emergency spills.

• Operate floor burnishers and wash walls and ceilings as directed.

• Undertake special projects, including the installation of drapes and cubicle curtains.

• Maintain and service cleaning equipment, requesting repairs as necessary.

• Report any deficiencies in equipment or fixtures observed during duties.

• Manage the sign-in and sign-out process for pagers, keys, and equipment.

• Ensure the cleanliness and orderly appearance of assigned areas, ensuring compliance with inspection standards.

Qualifications:

• Required: Demonstrated ability to operate cleaning equipment effectively after training.

• Required: Knowledge of proper chemical usage and cleaning techniques.

• Required: Ability to perform 10 Step Cleaning and isolation cleaning in patient rooms, as well as terminal cleaning in various areas.

• Required: Proficiency in using the Bed Tracking System.

• Required: Strong interpersonal skills and a neat personal appearance.

• Preferred: High school diploma or G.E.D., with the ability to comprehend written English and verbal instructions.

• Preferred: Previous cleaning experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, walking, and stooping while performing duties.

• Ability to push, pull, and manage cleaning equipment and materials weighing up to 150 pounds.
