About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Environmental Permitting Specialist to join our dynamic team at the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring environmental compliance across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare permit applications and compliance programs for various environmental media, including air, wastewater, storm water, waste, and storage tanks.
  • Perform environmental compliance audits, gap assessments, and inspections.
  • Develop and support the implementation of spill prevention and contingency plans (SPCC, SWPPP, FRP, etc.).
  • Manage project budgets, invoicing, and lead project teams with junior staff.
  • Build strong client relationships while delivering on multiple tasks within budgets and deadlines.
  • Provide field support, including site inspections and sampling.
  • Train and mentor junior staff members.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in multimedia environmental permitting and compliance, ideally in the State.
  • Certifications: PE, FE/EIT, or CHMM certification strongly preferred; 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, analytical thinking, and multitasking abilities.
  • Client Management: Experience managing multiple clients and projects, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel for client meetings and site visits; valid driver's license required.
