Job Overview

We are expanding our technical team focused on Labvantage systems and are seeking a Senior Technical Lead for Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). This role is integral to our Global IT DEVSECOPS team, providing support to research and development laboratories worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in the configuration, design, development, testing, and deployment of the Labvantage System, collaborating closely with our IT Solution Architect.
  • Gather, analyze, and document requirements and specifications, ensuring continuous improvement and maintenance of the LIMS.
  • Facilitate workshops for stakeholders to gather information and develop prototypes for review.
  • Triage and resolve incidents related to LIMS, ensuring timely follow-up to resolution.
  • Oversee upgrades and modifications to the LIMS in partnership with the IT team and vendors.
  • Participate in technical reviews and project meetings as necessary.
  • Develop system components in alignment with established programming standards.
  • Create and review functional specifications, design documents, test plans, and traceability matrices as per project guidelines.
  • Provide technical insights and recommendations for data output options and improvements in analysis and reporting.

Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with the IT Solution Architect to align project delivery with business objectives and security policies.
  • Work with Product Managers and laboratory subject matter experts to translate business needs into functional requirements for the LIMS.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for internal and external use.
  • Prepare and present periodic status reports on project progress.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure successful execution of LIMS tasks and support projects.
  • Stay updated on LIMS software capabilities and new functionalities from vendors.
  • Evaluate product enhancements and implement necessary upgrades.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 4 years of experience, or a Master's degree.
  • Over 5 years of practical experience in complex organizational settings.
  • Experience in research and development environments is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with various LIMS platforms such as LabVantage, LabWare, or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of Azure and relational databases.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as VB or Java.
  • Experience in developing technical specifications and configuring LIMS software.

Non-Technical Skills

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
