About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technician to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures, maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
  • Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order.
  • Transport patients to and from the operating room, verifying patient identity and ensuring their safety.
  • Participate in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room, including cleaning and sterilizing equipment and supplies.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and effective surgical procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) highly desirable.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a surgical technician preferred.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
