Job Title: Surgical Technician

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technician to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and handling instruments and equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain operating rooms, including setting up equipment and supplies, and ensuring that all necessary materials are available.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure that all procedures are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide exceptional patient care, including preparing patients for surgery, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
  • Participate in the maintenance and cleaning of operating rooms, including sterilizing equipment and disposing of biohazardous materials.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) highly desirable.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a surgical technician preferred.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
