Job Summary

As a Senior Meat/Seafood Clerk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a high level of product knowledge, and ensuring the efficient operation of the meat and seafood department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, store, and grind meats; unload and transport fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery trucks
  • Count and weigh incoming articles and compare results against invoices
  • Examine meats in storage and rotate meats to avoid aging
  • Provide a high level of prompt and friendly customer service while assisting customers with questions, special orders, and needs
  • Maintain a positive, customer-focused work environment
Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience and 2-3 years of grocery retail experience in meat department processes and procedures
  • Dependable and reliable with the ability to perform other related duties as assigned
  • Outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude, and the ability to interact with customers
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Good communication skills and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment
