Role Summary

The ideal candidate will possess eligibility as a registered pharmacist in the states of Maine and New Hampshire. As a vital member of the Centralized Refill Pharmacy team, the clinical pharmacist plays a crucial role in managing prescription refill renewal authorizations for patients within the MaineHealth Medical Group. This role adheres to established institutional guidelines and utilizes embedded protocols to ensure optimal patient care.

By employing evidence-based practices, the pharmacist will work to improve patient outcomes through effective medication management. Additionally, the pharmacist will assess and triage any supplementary information necessary to expedite the refill request process for patients in primary care clinics. This position emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, engaging with providers, pharmacists, and medical assistants to enhance medication therapy.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Must be a graduate of an ACCP accredited school or college of pharmacy.
  • Licensure: Must be eligible or currently licensed in the State of Maine.
  • Experience: Preferred experience includes working as a patient care pharmacist with a focus on patient monitoring and drug therapy review, ideally within an organized healthcare environment. Experience in monitoring and consulting on drug therapy across diverse age groups is also preferred.
