About the Role

Atlas is a leading provider of civil engineering, materials testing, and geotechnical consulting services for environmental, industrial, and infrastructure construction projects. As an Industrial Hygiene Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our clients and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Team Members: Assist senior team members in conducting complex building science and industrial hygiene assessments, including sampling and data collection.
  • Field Assessments: Independently perform field assessments to identify and mitigate workplace hazards, and direct project teams as needed.
  • Sampling and Data Analysis: Collect and analyze environmental and personal samples, and prepare samples for shipment to laboratories for analysis.
  • Instrument Maintenance: Maintain, calibrate, and operate building science and industrial hygiene instruments and equipment.
  • Reporting and Communication: Compile and provide summary reports of analytical data, and draft full reports with findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations applicable to mold, asbestos, lead, radon, indoor air quality, and industrial hygiene services.
  • Training and Development: Contribute to the development of education and training programs for workers and management on potential hazards, safe work practices, and the proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with senior team members and other professionals to advise on workplace incidents or complaints related to health hazards, and communicate effectively with Atlas team members, clients, and contractors.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate degree, Bachelor's degree, or certificate in project planning, management, environmental sciences, engineering, construction, architecture, industrial hygiene, occupational health, or a related science field.
  • Experience: 2+ years of technically sound consulting experience conducting and managing industrial hygiene and building science projects, including asbestos surveys, mold surveys, lead-based paint surveys, radon surveys, exposure monitoring, and noise monitoring.
  • Skills: Strong technical writing skills, proficiency in Microsoft software and applications, and knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations applicable to mold, asbestos, lead, radon, indoor air quality, and industrial hygiene services.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to climb stairs/ladders, travel locally up to 75%, and work nights and weekends up to 15%.
