We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Process Specialist. The primary role of this position is to support the manufacturing operations and Production Team by applying engineering expertise to evaluate, manage, implement, enhance, or modify processes aimed at boosting operational efficiency, safety, and product quality consistency. This role may require weekend and off-hour support as needed and will lead initiatives for manufacturing improvements as part of the process control management team (PCM).
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive projects that enhance and optimize the manufacturing process.
- Collaborate closely with the New Product Development team to facilitate the implementation and scaling of new products and processes.
- Provide engineering support for ongoing site expansion efforts.
- Monitor daily production metrics, collecting and analyzing data to identify trends and potential issues.
- Utilize recognized statistical process control methods and other analytical tools to develop, maintain, and present reports that detail the effectiveness of current processes or justify the introduction of new procedures.
- Work in conjunction with engineering, production, quality control, and other relevant departments to define and develop necessary processes.
- This position is primarily a daylight role but will provide backup support for vacation coverage and potential weekend needs for the shift PCM and Production teams, requiring the ability to support 24/7 manufacturing operations.
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline is required, with a preference for Chemical or Industrial Engineering.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in an engineering role, particularly in project or process engineering; experience in plastics manufacturing is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to think critically and theoretically.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and PLC programming is a plus.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in environments with elevated temperatures and humidity.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
