About the Role:

The Associate Director for Civic Engagement and Expression is a key member of the InsideHigherEd team, responsible for fostering a culture of free expression, civic education, dialogue, and engagement on campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the training, operations, and support for the University Response Team (URT) to ensure successful event management and conflict resolution.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive promotion and programming to educate the campus community on freedom of speech, expression, and engagement.
  • Partner with campus stakeholders, including CPS, TUA, GAPSA, CIL, EDI, and academic departments, to promote a culture of civic engagement and expression.
  • Coordinate the selection, training, scheduling, and assessment of the URT to ensure effective event management and conflict resolution.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and three years of progressive student affairs experience in a collegiate setting or large venue.
  • High School Diploma/equivalent and seven years progressive student affairs experience in a collegiate setting or large venue.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate or Professional Degree in student affairs, higher education leadership, social work, law, or related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in student development, training and development, and conflict management.
  • Knowledge of student development theory, freedom of expression, and learning and development.
  • Knowledge of best practices in de-escalation, dialogue, and restorative justice.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with diverse student groups and programs.
