All-Guard Alarm Systems, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Inspector to join our team. As a Fire Alarm Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive technical inspections of fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with applicable fire and safety laws, regulations, and standards.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough inspections of fire alarm systems to identify any defects or malfunctions.
- Explain and interpret provisions of fire codes to building owners, managers, and employers.
- Inform owners or managers of conditions requiring correction, such as faulty wiring or equipment malfunction.
- Prepare reports of faulty equipment and submit them to management.
- Conduct inspections and acceptance tests for fire protection equipment, automatic fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and similar devices.
- Collect fees for inspections and maintain accurate records.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and properly fill out paperwork.
- Respond promptly to customer questions or needs.
- Perform other alarm service calls as needed.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Write clearly and informatively, and able to read and interpret written information.
- Follow policies and procedures, and complete administrative tasks correctly and on time.
- Exhibit sound and accurate judgment, and include appropriate people in decision-making process.
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, and monitor own work to ensure quality.
- Complete work in a timely manner, and strive to increase productivity.
- Observe safety and security procedures, and determine appropriate action beyond guidelines.
- Consistently be at work and on time, and ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent.
- 3+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Understanding of fire alarm control panels, including Honeywell, Silent Knight, Notifier, Radionics, and FireLite panel software.
