Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer - Starlink

At SpaceX, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer on our Starlink team, you'll play a critical role in designing and developing the next generation of satellite technology.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop complex mechanical systems for our Starlink satellite constellation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive system-level optimization and ensure seamless integration
  • Develop and maintain design criteria, requirements, and specifications for mechanical components
  • Perform environmental and performance testing on hardware to validate analysis and demonstrate compliance to design criteria
  • Own product delivery timeline through conception, design, assembly, and launch
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience with mechanical/electromechanical design, analysis, testing, and/or manufacturing
  • Proficient in 3D CAD (NX preferred) and solid understanding of GD&T
  • Demonstrated understanding of structural analysis and failure modes of complex mechanical systems
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Master's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline
  • 3+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and analysis
  • 2+ years of hands-on project experience with complex mechanical systems, preferably as a team lead
  • Experience working with PCB designers and exposure to PCB layout and PCBA mechanical design
  • Experience with design of experiments, statistical process control, and process qualification

  • Ability to work long hours and weekends as necessary to support critical milestones
