Service Technician for Industrial Maintenance

Position Overview

The Service Technician will be an integral part of our maintenance team, stationed at our manufacturing facility. This role involves executing equipment repairs promptly, conducting preventive maintenance, and supporting engineering initiatives as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out timely equipment changeovers in alignment with production schedules.
  • Assist in maintaining a structured preventive maintenance schedule for designated machinery.
  • Participate in equipment refurbishment projects, ensuring thorough reviews and execution of rebuilding tasks.
  • Respond to repair requests from the engineering department in a timely manner.
  • Support operators during equipment setups to guarantee optimal functionality.
  • Order parts, components, and supplies essential for maintenance operations.
  • Provide training to plant staff on equipment control and operational processes.
  • Adhere to OSHA and SDS regulations to maintain safety standards.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety protocols.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's degree or higher is preferred.
  • Must possess personal tools necessary for job functions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
  • Willingness to work overtime and night shifts as needed.
  • Familiarity with operations in a manufacturing chemical plant is advantageous.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient in troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience in plumbing and pipefitting is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot effectively to minimize downtime.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with packing and production machinery.

Physical Requirements

  • Capability to work in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods, with breaks as needed.
  • Willingness to work in varying temperature conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Frequent overtime may be required.
