Job Summary

The Oroville Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Obstetrics Department. You will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective care, while also providing education and support to patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to gather data relevant to patient individual needs, including age-specific needs.
  • Perform subjective and objective assessments of all obstetrical patients, including primary and secondary assessments of all body systems.
  • Determine patient response to the environment, identify patient support systems, and determine patient response to pain and labor.
  • Assess need for post-partum education on self/infant care and implement a plan of care in collaboration with patient families.
  • Identify nursing diagnoses or problems based on patient assessments, formulate an etiology for each nursing diagnosis, and develop a plan of care for obstetrical patients.
  • Implement the plan of care, follow established protocol in the Obstetrics Department, and demonstrate knowledge and ability to prioritize care for various patient scenarios.
  • Evaluate patient response to interventions, reassess, and document on patient records, including patient evaluation of achievement of desired outcomes.
  • Establish priorities for patient care activities, demonstrate knowledge of role to provide care for assigned patient area, and report changes in patient status to charge nurse or physician.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing and licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of California.
  • Experience as a staff nurse for at least two years, preferred.
  • Current American Heart Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Fetal monitoring education within the first six months.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRP) within first six months.

The Registered Nurse in this role will work in a fast-paced Obstetrics Department, providing care to patients of all ages. The ideal candidate will be able to prioritize care, work collaboratively with the healthcare team, and provide education and support to patients and their families.
