Position Overview:
The Junior Procurement Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the National Procurement team.
This position involves assisting local teams, verifying all orders, and coordinating deliveries to ensure timely arrival and adherence to quality standards.
The Junior Procurement Specialist serves as the onsite liaison for the procurement team.Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Duties:
Coordinate inbound shipments and monitor delayed deliveries.
Collaborate with warehouse teams to uphold optimal inventory levels.
Place accurate and timely orders with vendors and/or source products locally.
Utilize Google Suite to assess purchase quantities regularly.
Employ Home Chef's ERP system to generate purchase orders and manage in-house inventory.
Engage daily with quality and production teams to ensure alignment.
Minimize excess orders by tracking starting inventory and adjusting orders as necessary.
Manage product yields and forecast variability, adjusting quantities accordingly.
Calculate average case counts upon product arrival and modify orders as needed.
Enhancing Purchasing Accuracy:
Participate in purchasing KPI meetings and prepare accordingly.
Collaborate with buyers to identify root causes of shortages or overages and implement corrective action plans.
Maintain the Price Discrepancy Log while liaising with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure future accuracy.
Onsite Procurement Assistance:
Act as the onsite representative for the regional procurement team, providing support as required.
This role may involve occasional travel.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a purchasing role.
Experience in food or produce procurement is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with ERP systems is advantageous.
Proficient in Excel.
Ability to solve problems and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation:
Salary range: $45,000 - $52,000
