Job Summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Optometrist Manager to lead the optometry department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the activities of the department, ensuring compliance with established regulations, and overseeing the quality of service and utilization of standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the optometry staff and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor the quality of service and utilization of standards, ensuring staff provides the highest quality of patient care and services.
  • Manage the day-to-day clinical practice standards, staffing, payroll, budgets, fiscal management, and quality improvement.
  • Develop and implement action plans to improve staff development and monitor the allocation and utilization of personnel based on continual changes in member requests for appointments.
  • Investigate and resolve member concerns regarding patient care and services.
Requirements
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as a practicing optometrist required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in managing professional staff required.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of optometry.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Optometrist License (California) and National Provider Identifier required at hire.
