The Collision Center Refinish Trainee Technician plays a vital role in restoring damaged automotive body components to meet factory and dealership quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with an assigned Refinish Technician to gain hands-on experience in vehicle refinishing.
- Inspect incoming vehicles to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Under supervision, mix paints to achieve accurate color matching.
- Assist in preparing vehicles for painting by addressing minor dents and scratches with appropriate fillers.
Apply primer to repaired surfaces and buff and wax completed paint jobs.
- Help the Refinish Technician in applying logos and designs according to specifications using measuring tools and stencils.
- Meet production goals established by management.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain protective equipment.
- Follow all regulations regarding hazardous materials.
- Operate body shop equipment safely and effectively.
- Support other areas of the Collision Repair Center as required.
- Maintain tools and equipment in optimal condition.
- Uphold high standards of personal grooming and uniform appearance.
- Demonstrate ethical behavior in all professional interactions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Preferably, at least one year of experience in vehicle refinishing.
- Familiarity with tools and machinery related to vehicle refinishing, as well as knowledge of relevant regulations and mathematical principles.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and pay close attention to detail.
Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a safe driving record.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this role include:
- Ability to discern color differences and match shades accurately.
- Frequent bending, stretching, and reaching, as well as the ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to work in various weather conditions and environments, including confined spaces.
- Standing or sitting for extended periods and operating vehicles or heavy equipment.
- Climbing ladders and navigating stairs as necessary.
