Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Neurodiagnostic Technologist to join our team at SSM Health. As a Neurodiagnostic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing neurodiagnostic testing, including EEG, EP, MEG, TMS, epilepsy monitoring, and electrocorticography. You will also assist in nerve conduction testing and complete all necessary documentation for departmental records and patient procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Perform standard and complex EEG and evoked potential (EP) recordings according to established lab protocol and guidelines set forth by the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society.
  • Summarize patient neurological status and clinical history and complete documentation needed for physician interpretation, including history sheets and labeling of tracing.
  • Record clinical evoked potentials in auditory, visual, and cervical and lumbar somatosensory modalities, as well as clinical nerve conduction velocities and quantitative sensory testing.
  • Monitor EEG during sodium amytal studies, electrocorticography, cortical mapping, and other procedures.
  • Perform long-term epilepsy monitoring to evaluate patients with paroxysmal disturbances of cerebral function.
  • Complete patient charge forms to ensure accurate and timely billing of procedures and complete all necessary written documentation to ensure smooth operation of the department.
  • Support all functions, goals, and objectives of the department, as well as development of new programs involving the Neurophysiology Lab and Epilepsy Unit.
  • Participate in education and training opportunities, including development of new diagnostic testing procedures and evaluation of new equipment for potential purchase.
  • Enhance professional growth and development through annual participation in educational programs, in-services, workshops, reading current publications on Neurophysiology testing and technology, and online CME through various professional organizations and manufacturers.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Neurodiagnostic Technology or equivalent training.
  • At least three years' experience performing EEGs, NCV, and EPs. Intraoperative monitoring experience is helpful.
  • Registered or registry eligible by ABRET in EEG, or within 18 months of hire.
Working Conditions
