Role Overview
The Senior Service Operations Technician is tasked with exceeding expectations in customer experience at our service facilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical expertise coupled with exceptional customer service skills.

This position involves daily collaboration with internal teams to address service requirements and coordinate with our Service, Vehicle and Delivery Operations, and Field Service Engineering teams.
Success in this role requires a dynamic leader with outstanding verbal and written communication skills, fostering cross-functional collaboration and promoting a culture of continuous improvement to support both Service teams and customers.
A customer-centric approach is essential, along with the ability to thrive in unpredictable environments, tackling challenges with creativity and adaptability.
Experience in automotive service, process optimization, and escalation management is advantageous.Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the support of pre-production vehicle assembly, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Travel to various locations to provide support until the local Service Center is operational.
- Operate remotely until the local service center is established, if necessary.
- Adhere to Rivian repair protocols efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Conduct diagnostics, repairs, installations, and inspections on vehicles.
- Utilize a strong understanding of schematics and diagrams to accurately diagnose and resolve repair issues.
- Perform vehicle repairs outside of a service center environment.
- Execute road tests on vehicles to verify repair quality.
- Manage parts operations, including ordering, receiving, shipping, and inventory management.
- Maintain up-to-date technical skills and complete required training.
- Support service campaigns and containment initiatives.
- Exhibit high-level administrative capabilities using Microsoft Office tools.
- Deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.
- Foster a collaborative atmosphere and team spirit in a dynamic setting.
- Provide field service support to enhance the Service organization.
- Demonstrate professionalism in customer-facing interactions.
- Mentor and support fellow technicians as needed.
- Additional support, including travel, may be required based on business needs.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited automotive repair program or equivalent vocational training preferred.
- Extensive experience in high-voltage diagnostic work.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience with vehicle high-voltage systems preferred.
- Understanding of High Voltage Interlock Loop (HVIL) is essential.
