Rail Component Assembler

OhioMeansJobs Lake County is seeking a skilled Trackwork Assembly Specialist to join their team. As a Trackwork Assembly Specialist, you will be responsible for assembling rail components, including full track panels, turnouts, and crossings, to customer specifications.
The ideal candidate will have mechanical aptitude and skills, with the ability to read blueprints, engineering change documents, and work instructions. You will work in a manufacturing environment, using industrial equipment and mechanics, and be able to use various hand and power tools and measuring devices.
Responsibilities include:
- Assembling rail components according to customer specifications
- Using mechanical aptitude and skills to build full track panels, turnouts, and crossings
- Following instructions from blueprints, engineering change documents, and work instructions
- Maintaining area cleanliness and organization
- Following safety policies and practices when operating equipment and machinery
Preferred qualifications include prior experience using hand tools, pneumatic and electric powered grinders, and impact wrenches, as well as overhead cranes to transport rail and rail components. Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, written work instructions, and other visual aids is also desirable.
