Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Leadership: Provide financial leadership to hospital managers, directors, and officers, ensuring alignment with the hospital's strategic plan and goals.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and financial reports to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the hospital meets necessary financial regulatory and compliance requirements, including Medicare and Medicaid reporting.
  • Revenue Cycle Management: Oversee the revenue cycle process, including billing, collections, access management, coding, and managed care.
  • Department Management: Manage department directors for Accounting, Revenue Cycle services, Materials Management, Health Information Management, Case Management, and Information Technology.
  • Strategic Planning: Participate in the development of strategic plans for new services that generate additional sources of profitable revenue.
  • Performance Improvement: Analyze areas for performance improvement and develop action plans to address unfavorable trends and comparisons.
  • Communication: Present financial information to the Board of Trustees, ensuring their understanding of the hospital's financial performance and position.
Requirements
  • Education: MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of five years of CFO experience within a Critical Access Hospital environment preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus interpersonal skills. Strong knowledge and understanding of the Revenue Cycle, financial planning, accounting, compliance, and reporting.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with hospital staff and community.
