Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Officer II to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating specific components of projects, leading task management, and contributing to project planning and implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate specific components of projects, support planning and implementation
  • Contribute to detailed planning, develop plans for specific project components
  • Manage tasks related to specific project areas, ensure timely completion
  • Prepare detailed reports, documents project activities, and tracks progress
  • Communicate with stakeholders on specific project aspects, provides regular updates
  • Coordinate small teams or work groups within project, ensuring collaboration
  • Provide support to project management, delivers presentations, and leads meetings
  • Review expense reports and invoices prior to project and finance management approval
  • Collaborate with Financial Analyst II on financial transparency and purchase orders
  • Contribute to business development and project design efforts
  • Research and provide inputs for project design by supporting other team members
  • Synthesize existing information and data into an overarching summary of progress on key project activities
  • Tracks trends in the project area and collects more sophisticated data
  • May contribute to project budget development
  • May conduct new hire onboarding on department procedures and administrative processes
  • Participate in external events related to project and/or technical area
  • May serve as a mentor to other team members
  • Monitor compliance with project policies and procedures within specific areas
  • Identify risk within specific project areas, proposes mitigation strategies
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or its International Equivalent in Civil Society, Communication and Social Marketing, Economic Development, Education, the Environment, Gender, Health, Nutrition, Research, Technology and Youth or a Related Fields
  • Project management certification preferred
  • Typically requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience with projects management principles and practices
  • Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or private organization
  • International or Domestic (US) Program Development or Program management preferred
  • Demonstrated experience monitoring financial performance and compliance of subawardees
  • Experience with risk mitigation within project portfolios preferred
Working Conditions

The expected US Based hiring salary range for this role is listed below. Candidate FHI 360 pay ranges represent national averages that vary by geographic location.

When determining an offer amount, FHI 360 factors in multiple considerations, including but not limited to: relevant years of experience and education possessed by the applicant, internal equity, business sector, and budget.

Base salary is only one component of our offer. FHI 360 contributes 12% of monthly base pay to a money purchase pension plan account.

Additionally, all US based staff working full-time, which is calculated at 40 hours/week, receive 18 days of paid vacation per year, 12 sick days per year, and 11 holidays per year.

Paid time off is reduced pro rata for employees working less than a full-time schedule.
