Role Overview:
As a Pet Host, you will be the welcoming face for our clients and their beloved pets. Your primary responsibilities will include managing the check-in and check-out processes for our guests, assisting with reservation inquiries, and promoting our activity packages and daycare services. You will be the first point of contact for clients, vendors, and guests, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
A Typical Day:
Arriving at work with enthusiasm, you will don our branded attire and engage with pet parents and their furry companions. Your role will involve greeting visitors, managing reservations, and providing tailored service to meet their needs. You will multitask by answering phones, escorting pets, processing transactions, and documenting important information for both clients and management. Expect to interact closely with pets and their owners, ensuring a positive experience for all.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service by adhering to our Service Foundation principles, ensuring every client feels valued and respected.
- Handle all incoming communications, including phone calls, voicemails, and emails.
- Facilitate reservations for boarding, grooming, training, and daycare services.
- Manage financial transactions, including cash, checks, and credit cards, while maintaining accurate records.
- Build rapport with clients and familiarize yourself with their pets' names and preferences.
- Gather and input essential information regarding pet visits into our management systems.
- Collaborate with team members to address client and pet needs effectively.
- Maintain knowledge of all services offered and provide appropriate solutions to client inquiries.
- Request and verify vaccination records from veterinary offices.
- Assist in managing waitlists during peak times to maximize facility capacity.
- Act as a liaison between clients and veterinary staff when necessary.
- Proactively reach out to loyal customers to secure reservations ahead of busy seasons.
- Address customer relations issues promptly and with professionalism.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met throughout the facility.
- Notify management when inventory levels are low in key areas.
- Maintain common areas in a clean and hazard-free condition.
- Consult with other departments as needed to enhance service delivery.
Ideal Candidate Attributes:
- A genuine passion for animal care, particularly for dogs and cats, with a willingness to learn about their behavior.
- Strong customer service orientation, capable of managing challenging situations with empathy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster lasting relationships with clients.
- Ability to multitask and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
- Physical capability to handle dogs of various sizes and lift up to 60 lbs.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Reliability and punctuality in all work commitments.
