Position Summary:
The Patient Services Coordinator plays a vital role in delivering outstanding service to patients, both face-to-face and via telephone. This position involves gathering comprehensive demographic, financial, and insurance details from patients and their representatives, which are essential for billing and managing patient accounts. The Coordinator undertakes various administrative and patient service tasks to facilitate smooth operations within the medical office. Responsibilities include managing multiple phone lines, scheduling appointments, assisting with medical records requests, entering patient information, and processing payments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit a high standard of professionalism while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance details for accuracy.
  • Confirm insurance coverage and collect copayments, co-insurance, and outstanding balances.
  • Ensure all patient intake documentation is properly completed and signed.
  • Manage patient communication channels, including phone lines and messaging portals.
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling efficiently.
  • Process medical record requests in accordance with established policies.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to enhance the patient experience.

Qualifications:

Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Certificate.

Required Skills:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience with healthcare insurance processes.
  • Proficient computer skills with a typing speed of at least 30 WPM.
  • A strong commitment to assisting others and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Highly dependable and organized with outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain a polished and professional appearance.
  • Ability to learn quickly, retain training, and solve problems independently.

Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous.
