Job SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate and skilled Home Health Aide to join our team at Amedisys Inc. As a Home Health Aide, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support in the comfort of patients' homes.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain and record patient vital signs, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for patients.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, hygiene, and toileting.
- Prepare and serve meals, and assist with light homemaking and other environmental services.
- Observe and report any changes in patient status, including basic elements of body functioning.
- Recognize and respond to emergency situations, implementing appropriate procedures as needed.
- Follow infection prevention and control protocols, and handle hazardous waste and safety measures.
- Assist patients with prescribed exercises, as instructed by nurses or therapists.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant, as per state certification/registration requirements.
- CNA experience within the last two years.
- Ability to successfully pass the competency program of the care center.
- Current CPR certification.
