Job Summary

Sprezzatura Management Consulting, LLC is seeking an experienced MS Exchange Server Help Desk Technician to join our team. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's Exchange Server environment, ensuring the availability, performance, and security of the email system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exchange Server Management
    • Install, configure, and maintain MS Exchange Server environments.
    • Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance.
    • Apply patches, updates, and service packs as necessary to maintain system integrity and security.
    • Perform regular backups and restoration of Exchange database.
  • User Management
    • Manage user accounts, mailboxes, distribution groups, and permissions.
    • Provide support for email-related issues for end users.
    • Implement and manage email archiving, retention policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Security
    • Implement and manage security measures for email systems, including spam and virus protection.
    • Monitor and respond to security incidents related to the email system.
    • Conduct regular security audits and assessments of the Exchange environment.
  • Collaboration and Support
    • Work closely with other IT team members to ensure seamless integration of email systems with other applications and services.
    • Provide support for mobile device management (MDM) related to email services.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of disaster recovery plans for the email system.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of the Exchange environment, including configurations, procedures, and changes.
    • Generate reports on system performance, usage, and security incidents.
    • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for routine tasks and incident response.
Requirements
  • High school/GED required.
  • Must possess the Department of Veterans Affairs Tier 2/MBI security clearance or be able to obtain and maintain clearance.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing MS Exchange Server environments.
  • Certification in Microsoft Exchange Server or related technologies is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Exchange Server 2016/2019 and Office 365.
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and networking concepts.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks.
  • Knowledge of email security best practices and tools (e.g., anti-spam, anti-virus).
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to managing tasks.
  • Location: Washington DC (on site).
  • Veteran Preference: Yes.
  • Citizenship/Security: Citizen/Green Card. Must be able to hold a federal security clearance.
