Position Summary:

The Assistant Teacher plays a vital role in supporting the educational journey of children aged 3-5 years. Collaborating closely with the Family Support Teacher, this position is dedicated to fostering a nurturing environment that encourages parental involvement and promotes family support services, aiming for the self-sufficiency of all families involved.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in active supervision of children, ensuring compliance with safety policies and maintaining the required adult-child ratio at all times.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of weekly lesson plans, and support the Teacher in the execution of the curriculum tailored to individual children's needs.
  • Facilitate the inclusion of children with special needs, collaborating with relevant staff to provide appropriate services.
  • Work with classroom staff to ensure comprehensive services are delivered to children and families, in alignment with established policies and procedures.
  • Support meal service delivery in accordance with relevant guidelines.
  • Assist children with toilet learning and hygiene practices.
  • Provide relationship-based support to families, helping them achieve their goals through regular follow-ups.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Child Development Associate Credential (Preschool) or equivalent experience.
  • At least one year of experience in a certified child care setting or similar environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including databases and spreadsheets.
  • Must pass background checks and meet health requirements prior to employment.
