POSITION SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated Facilities Mechanic to contribute to a thriving senior living community at Purchase College, State University of New York. This role is essential in ensuring the comfort and safety of residents by performing various maintenance tasks and repairs across the facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct routine maintenance and urgent repairs, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, carpentry, and painting.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Diagnose issues and perform repairs on various systems.
- Exhibit advanced skills in at least two trades such as electrical, plumbing, or HVAC.
- Be available for on-call duties and flexible working hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding operational challenges or system failures.
- Safely operate tools and equipment necessary for maintenance tasks.
- Engage in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge in facilities maintenance.
- Assist in inventory management and supply stocking.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, as well as push and pull similar weights with assistance. Frequent movement, including climbing, bending, and twisting, is necessary.
