Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Operations Manager to join our team at Amalgamated Life. As an Assistant Vice President of Financial Management, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including expense, budget, and accounts payable activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement financial plans, forecasts, and budgets to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Financial Operations Management: Oversee the reconciliation of monthly accounts payable, expense reports, and forecasts/budgets, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Analyze financial statements, forecast, and budget data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Financial Systems and Controls: Establish and maintain effective financial systems, processes, and internal controls to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, laws, and company policies, and identify and mitigate financial risks.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead a team of financial professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure the success of the team.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
  • Experience: 6+ years of professional experience in financial management, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Skills: Thorough understanding of budgetary and accounting principles (GAAP and Statutory), practices, and policies. Expertise in Multi-Org Oracle Financials, General Ledger, Payables, Receivables, Operating Expenses, Cash Management, and Fixed Assets. Proven record of good judgment in solving problems and handling challenges. Ability to work with technical and non-technical people. Proficient in Excel (pivot tables and Vlookups). Strong management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation: $130-150K
