The Automation Engineering Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting product development teams by delivering advanced computer-aided tools, processes, and systems. This position focuses on the development and maintenance of product development process technology utilizing state-of-the-art tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. System Administration:

    Oversee daily system administrative tasks, including backups, storage management, software troubleshooting, and annual file maintenance. Collaborate with vendors to enhance resource uptime and address system failures.

  2. Software Maintenance:

    Manage operating systems and application software, ensuring timely installation of updates and addressing hardware-related software issues. Develop tools to streamline system administration and enhance user productivity.

  3. Capacity and Performance Management:

    Regularly assess system capacity and performance, proposing hardware and software solutions to meet the needs of product development teams. Stay informed about new technologies relevant to engineering departments.

  4. Training and Support:

    Facilitate training for new users on applications like Creo Parametric and Windchill PDMLink. Contribute to the support team by developing workshops and evaluating training resources.

  5. Liaison and Collaboration:

    Act as a bridge between various engineering departments and IT, engaging with user groups to remain updated on industry best practices. Collaborate with teams to enhance productivity in information transfer.

  6. Fiscal Responsibility:

    Manage purchasing of equipment and supplies, providing recommendations for future expenditures.


Qualifications:
Applicants should possess an Associate's Degree or a minimum of 5 years of relevant CAD/CAM experience (Engineering Specialist III) or 7+ years (Engineering Specialist IV). Strong communication skills, proficiency in MS Office, and a commitment to user productivity are essential. Some travel may be required for field visits and user group meetings.
