Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Construction Inspector/Field Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing observations and testing during earthwork and building construction of various projects.
Key Responsibilities- Field Testing: Perform field testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt to determine compliance with project specifications.
- Equipment Operation: Operate specialized equipment designed to collect data from various construction materials, including nuclear density gauges, penetrometers, and hand tools.
- Communication: Interact with construction site personnel, engineers, and state and federal representatives while presenting yourself as a professional representative of the company.
- Reporting: Daily report writing, reading, and interpreting project drawings and specifications, and entering data related to various job tasks.
- Project Management: Communication with Company Project Manager while on project sites.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of field experience working on commercial construction projects performing some or all of the following inspections or testing: earthwork inspections and field testing, concrete sampling and field testing, pavement testing, bearing grade inspections for foundations, structural steel inspections, concrete masonry unit inspections, and grout testing.
- Education: Minimum of high school education.
- Skills: Ability to interpret project plans and specifications, strong computer skills including using Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, and ability to write accurate and concise field reports.
- Certifications: NICET, ICC, and ACI certifications.
- State Certification: WVDOH certified.
