Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and facilitating quality assurance activities, continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role assists both operations and quality management in maintaining process control and ensuring product compliance with established standards and protocols. The individual will support the organization by executing the following responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the Document Control System in line with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, including the creation, revision, and distribution of formal procedures and work instructions. Ensure that all documented processes are thorough and compliant with AS9100 standards.
  • Facilitate and deliver QMS training across the organization for both new hires and current employees.
  • Oversee calibration and preventive maintenance activities, ensuring that records are current and accurate. Monitor equipment calibration schedules, obtain quotes, arrange for external calibration services, and conduct internal equipment verifications as needed.
  • Complete quality-related customer surveys in collaboration with the Compliance department.
  • Coordinate and execute Internal Audits within an AS9100 certified quality framework, and support 2nd and 3rd party audits of the Quality Management System.
  • Assist in process investigations related to quality issues in collaboration with production teams.
  • Support the development and revision of inspection process methodologies.
  • Collect data, generate reports, and present monthly key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Effectively utilize the company’s ERP system, including modules for Inventory, Order Entry, Purchasing, and Production Orders.
  • Maintain quality documentation, including inspection records, first article inspections, and nonconformance material records, using company databases and filing systems.
  • Engage in company-sponsored training and process enhancement initiatives.
  • Adhere to all policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Comply with all applicable elements of the Quality Management System.
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) or equivalent relevant experience in a business-related field, with a minimum of 2 years in a Quality role.
  • Experience in an ISO9001 environment; knowledge of AS9100 is advantageous.
  • ISO or AS Auditor Certification is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with product assembly techniques and processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
  • Must be a US Citizen due to contractual obligations.
  • Ability to work in the assigned office location during scheduled workdays; this position requires full-time in-office presence.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks with excellent organizational and prioritization skills in a dynamic team environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and statutory guidelines.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a capacity to motivate and guide team members.
  • Proven problem-solving capabilities.
  • Technological proficiency, including the ability to analyze data and create presentations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use computers, read, write, and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.

The role may require exerting up to 10 pounds of force regularly, and occasionally up to 25 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Specific vision abilities required include close visual acuity for inspecting parts, preparing and analyzing data, and extensive reading.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
