Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing quality assurance protocols, initiatives, and continuous improvement strategies while ensuring customer satisfaction. This position collaborates with operations and quality management to guarantee that process control and product compliance are maintained according to established guidelines and policies. The following duties are essential to support the organization:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the Document Control System in alignment with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, including the creation, revision, and distribution of formal procedures and work instructions. Ensure that all documented processes meet the AS9100 standard.
  • Facilitate and deliver QMS training across the organization for both new hires and current employees.
  • Oversee calibration and preventive maintenance activities, ensuring that all registrars are current and accurate. Monitor equipment calibration schedules, obtain quotes, arrange for external calibration services, and conduct internal verifications as needed.
  • Complete quality-related customer assessments in collaboration with the Compliance department.
  • Coordinate and execute Internal Audits within an AS9100 certified environment and assist in 2nd and 3rd party audits of the Quality Management System.
  • Support quality and production teams in investigating process-related quality issues.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of inspection methodologies.
  • Collect data, generate reports, and publish monthly key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Utilize the company’s ERP system effectively, including modules for Inventory, Order Entry, Purchasing, and Production Orders.
  • Maintain comprehensive quality records, including inspection documentation, first article inspections, and nonconformance reports, using the company’s computer systems and filing methods.
  • Engage in company-sponsored training and initiatives aimed at process enhancement.
  • Adhere to all policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Comply with all relevant aspects of the Quality Management System.
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) or equivalent relevant experience in business, with a minimum of 2 years in a Quality role.
  • Experience in an ISO9001 environment; knowledge of AS9100 is advantageous.
  • ISO or AS Auditor Certification is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with product assembly techniques and related processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
  • Must be a US Citizen due to contractual obligations.
  • Ability to report to the designated office location during scheduled workdays; this position is full-time and office-based.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks with excellent organizational and prioritization skills in a dynamic team environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory directives and guidelines.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a talent for motivating and guiding team members.
  • Proven problem-solving capabilities.
  • Technological proficiency, including the ability to analyze data and create presentations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this role, the employee frequently needs to sit, stand, walk, use computers, read, write, type, operate copy machines, file documents, and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.

Regularly exerting up to 10 pounds of force, and occasionally up to 25 pounds for lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects.

Specific vision requirements include close visual acuity for inspecting parts, analyzing data, and extensive reading.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
