Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resident Advocate to join our team at Community Assistance Network. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, clean, and supportive environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce the Shelter Resident Guidebook and ensure compliance with all aspects of the guidebook.
  • Provide support to residents by maintaining the Shelter Mission, Values, and Motto.
  • Welcoming guests and visitors, answering inquiries, and referring them to relevant services.
  • Supervise residents in completing their assigned chores, attending classes, meetings, appointments, and other required services.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean shelter environment by stocking lavatories, stripping beds, and preparing totes and beds for new resident intakes.
  • Monitor and supervise residents, including their rooms, lobby, dining room, shelter trailer, patio, and shelter grounds.
  • Complete Staff Shift Check List and record shift documentation onto the Staff Logbook prior to the end of the work shift.
  • Complete daily intake of clients and make referrals for clients in crisis.
Requirements
  • A.A. degree in Human Services or Social Work or a related field (or two years of human service experience may be substituted for a college degree).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to coordinate and implement programs, knowledge of community services, and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, strong organizational skills, and a valid driver's license with transportation.
  • Strong initiative with the ability to self-manage and a commitment to the Shelter Mission, Values, and Motto.
